A co-worker down the hall from me will soon welcome her first grandchild, a little boy.
I wanted to make the mommy-to-be a sweet quilt and thought knocking out two projects at one time was perfect!
Thus, the Classic Blocks of nine patch and snowball joined forces to make this:
It isn't perfect but I'm okay with that. Of course looking at it now I wish I had down a bit more planning out and had the dark blue squares of the nine patch connect with the dark blue of the snowball. Of course I couldn't see that pattern until I had completely sewn it together. I decided I like this just fine.
Another problem is in my blocks themselves. They are supposed to be 12.5 inches before you joined them. I did something wrong in my cutting or sewing and they were smaller than 12.5 inches so I squared them down to 12 inches. It isn't a huge disruption until you closely examine them.
Overall I am pleased with them and glad that I am making one momma happy with a sweet baby gift.
Update: I've linked up over at SewFreshQuilts. Go check out some other fabulous quilters!
Love,
Ashley
This turned out great! I did one too and love how easy it went together!

ReplyDeleteThanks! Can't take the credit though. It was this month's classic block at SewCanShe!
