Hand Quilted Tote Bags

I am so excited to be sharing these two tote bags with you!

The first I gave a sneak peek  a week ago. Now that I've finished the other tote bag I'm ready to share!

Happy Animal Tote

So here's more photos of the first:

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this tote. I am thinking that I may gift this to the mommy-to-be who received the happy animals quilt. I think she would appreciate a small tote to use. Of course in those first few months you seemed to pack the entire house when you take the baby anywhere! Or at least my sister did.

Scrappy Star Quilted Tote

I used the instructions at this site to create the front block. I used a five inch square instead of the eighteen inch square to create my block. The only thing I would change is the dark green fabric. It has so much brown it just blends in with the background.

Here's the pictures of it:

I had put a zipper in using this tutorial but alas I cut the zipper too short and it just didn't work properly! I ended up very slowly ripping it out and just haven't reinstalled it yet. I hope to do that weekend if everything works out without things going upside down! So far this weekend we have been out of central air for over 12 hours! No big deal unless it is August in Louisiana! The last time I looked at the outside temperature it was around 100 degrees!

Here's to more creativity this weekend!

I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and TGIFF at Quilt Matters. Please visit and check out others' pretties!
