Christmas Pincushion Swap

I've tried to work on my friend Lily's order that I started during Thanksgiving break. However I also needed to finish up my pincushion for the SewCanShe Christmas Pincushion Swap!!!

It's been a lot of fun looking at what everyone has created for the swap. I haven't yet received my pincushion yet from my swap buddy. This swap is a bit different. The person I'm sending my pincushion to isn't sending me one. Instead someone else is. It's a great big circle of people trading!

I decided to create another book pincushion like I did here. I did change it up in three ways:

  1. Christmas colors!!!!
  2. Used interfacing instead of cardboard for the cover.
  3. Added a little place to put sewing needles.
Here's a look at it!

I am very happy with how this turned out and am hoping that my swap partner likes it also!

I would have had this done sooner but on top of my full time job and wrapping up teaching at my part-time job, this week starts off the Christmas season in my town! We have a giant Christmas Festival every year and people come from across the state to see the City of Lights

But MY favorite part is the NSULA Christmas Gala that is put on each year at my alma mater and work! I love attending the Gala every year! Plus it's the only theatre performance that my hubby will go to!

This year I actually went twice! Once with my hubby Wednesday night for date night and then again Thursday night with my sister and niece! Girls' Night!

This year I'll actually be at the Festival but providing support to my great friend, Cat from Coffee Cat Creations. She is a one-woman business so having a helper for the company and assistance is a help. PLUS it'll give me time to do some hexies as I haven't been working on them in the evenings.

Hopefully I'll make it to the post office in time today to mail off my pincushion. Luckily my partner is here in the states so it won't be too bad on postage!

I'm linking up with crazy mom quilts, Confessions of a Fabric Addict, and Quokka Quilts for TGIFF. Thanks for visiting if you clicked over to me!

What are you working on these days??
