Snow Day Projects

Over the last week the university was closed three of the five days due to "inclement weather". Basically we (those in Louisiana and the South in general) don't handle snow and icy weather very well. I myself cancelled a doctor's appointment that I can't reschedule for another month to keep from driving on the interstate!!

Of course with the snow days came lots of fun sewing and lots of "netflixing"! We never lost power so I had a bunch of fun sewing and just hanging out with my husband. And of course lots of cuddling with my kitties!

I also worked on the some of my swap items that needed to go out. Since I was going anywhere it seemed like the perfect time to sew!

Here are some pictures of the 12" blocks that I mailed out for Baker's Dozen Swap.

I didn't find an actual pattern for this one but it wasn't hard to figure out from the Pinterest picture

I also sewed up a couple of mug rugs from some online swap also.

Second mug rug but I forgot to take a picture of the back.

I also sewed up a St. Patty's block to send out in the third swap I'm participating in. She asked for St. Patty's so I hope she likes it! I used the instructions here to create this block.

I think one of the best things to happen during the snow days was the discovery of this wavy stitch! I used it on one of the mug rugs and I'm quite excited to use it again! Some of the quilting bloggers that I read have this stitch on their much more fancy (and expensive) machines. I'm a bit surprised that my little Brother from Walmart has it also! Look at that!

Here's a look at my cutting table during these snow days! It is a bit of a mess and I am not saying if it still looks like that!!!

Yes, there is clear wrap on that table! I wrap my blocks in the wrap to ensure that if the envelope gets wet the fabric won't get ruined!

I'm linking up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict (a few days late but it counts!). If you are visiting from there, HI!!

I also made a new "closing" graphic! I'm quite happy with it! :)
