WIP Wednesday -- Current Projects

I'm involved in a few swap groups on Facebook. I spent some time on Friday (June 26) working on swap blocks:

12" Double Monkey Wrench - requested red, white and blue

12 " Log Cabin block -- requested polka dots

Two 6" blocks to be sent out for Tatty Swap!
Interested in small swaps without a lot of pressure?? Come join us!
These blocks have already been put in the mail to their new homes! For once I'm a bit ahead on my swap obligations!

Also, this past weekend involved a great deal of thread basting of hexies. I probably basted around 150 hexies for the next few rounds of my Hexy Quilt. Here's where Hexy 4 is currently heading:

Planning out the next four rounds of Hexy 4

I'm quite happy with these next rounds and am already looking ahead to Hexy 5. I have also started thinking about a new hexy quilt that I would like to start. One that involves small units! I've been pinning different ideas on Pinterest.

I am hoping to buy the Fiskars Hexagon Squeeze Punch in the Extra Large Size (affiliated Amazon link). This punch is 1 inch on its size which nearly the size that I currently use. I say nearly as I photocopy mishap at the beginning of my project and the hexy copy paper I use is not to size. Thus all of the hexies that I have currently made can only be used in my current project. I may not buy this punch through Amazon but with a coupon through a craft or hobby store. However with Amazon I can save up my Swagbuck points and get a gift card!

Interested in earning free gift cards?? Check out Swagbucks!
Use my affiliated link and I earn too!

In the meantime I have ordered 3 packs of diamond paper pieces from a drop on Massdrop. If you haven't checked out Massdrop you definitely should! Some things can be found cheaper through Amazon, your LQS or a hobby store but I have found a few good deals. Including the one I just ordered! I have never ordered through PaperPieces.com so I thought this would be a good time to try it! The order won't be in for awhile but I still have to find the perfect pattern! So far I like the one you can find here. If you have any suggestions, please leave it in my comments!

Use my affiliated link and I earn too!

Okay, I'm done with little plugs for affiliated links!!! I actually have not connected these groups to my blog before but I figured I should make a try for it! I do not earn any money from this blog and actually use the Swagbucks site daily! (I heard about it from The Frugal Girl and used her refer code to sign up.) Plus I only signed up for the Amazon Affiliates program today! I figured what was the harm in linking up! Plus if someone signs up and can earn a few bucks, works for me!!

What are you working lately???

Linking up with Sew Fresh Quilts and Freshly Pieced*! If you are visiting from there, HI!!! Please go check out their sites for inspiration!

*Cancelled this week.

  1. Whoop whoop for progress! I have been (and still am this week) working on swap blocks and gifts. I love that log cabin! It feels so good once they are done, so I am excited to have that feeling! That hexie is looking mighty scrumptious, and it certainly is coming along. 150, phew!
