.... and GIFTED!!!
I haven't had a lot of time to actually quilt but.... recently we had the Great Flood of 2016 in Louisiana! That resulted in three days of leave which equaled non-stop sewing and quilting!

My front steps!! Yes, that bottom step is actually under water! |
I've been working on hand quilting a twin quilt for my niece; a post for another day. But in the meantime I have a total of FIVE baby quilts that I'd like to sew up! I spent my rain days cutting, piecing, quilting, and binding a baby quilt! I even was able to gift it!
I did a very simple pattern using an 8" block and a 4-block square. Included a 2" border on all sides to bring the full size to 36" square!
Happy Quilt! |
Seriously, love the backing! Used a couple of flannel remnants to piece it together.
Fun, happy backing -- lots of elephants! |
Made a simple label with my name, location, and date.
Happy colors playing together! |
My niece and nephews are always so much fun! They absolutely love any of my quilts!
Hopefully in the next month or so, I will be able to share another baby quilt finish!! I already started cutting it out but don't want to jinx the finish by sharing a photo!

ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you that you are back to blogging......losing a pet is so darn heartbreaking.......but it looks like with all the baby quilts you are doing....you'll have lots of opportunities to shower your love on new little ones!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great finish and it looks like you had fun with your niece and nephew.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your kitty! I lost mine last year also! Glad you back to blogging and accomplishing so much on the baby quilts! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYay for a finish! The baby quilt is very cute. And man that was A LOT of water, glad everyone is okay and that it resulted in non stop sewing days. I take sewing days anyway I can get them.
