"Summer in the Park" in PINK!

As I stated in a previous post, many of my friends are having babies so I've been turning out baby quilts!

This quilt was meant to be as I already had the jelly roll and it perfectly matches the nursery colors! I haven't a clue the name of the jelly roll though I think I purchased it via Amazon. It's been so long that I'm not entirely sure!

I used the video tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company to create a "Summer in the Park" Quilt. I adore the pairing of the sweet pink with yellow.

This ended up being five blocks by six blocks due to a cutting snafu. Basically when I was cutting the squares I managed to veer off-course and mangled the block. However, I'm still quite pleased with the ending piece!

Elephants and Pinwheels

Back in 2011, I became friends with a fellow online student via email and our online classroom. We chatted quite a bit that term. After the term we continued our friendship via Facebook. We never actually met but we kept up with each other as she moved with her husband and their growing family to his different military assignments.

Last year, she gave birth to their first son and I wanted to gift not only her son with a quilt but her three girls as well. I also wanted to use this fun fabric that I found in my local WalMart.

Thus, this sweet quilt was born!

I used a fun grey and teal polka dot as one-half of the triangle and used eight other fabrics to create the pinwheels.

I had a lot of fun taking photos of this quilt (and the others that I will share).

Fun Fact: I actually work at the university that I earned my undergrad and graduate degrees. These photos were taken at the building and grounds of our business college. My husband is a current student there! Funny enough this building was the library prior to the current building. And I work in the new library!

Tinkerbell Quilt

IT IS FINISHED!!

That's right! I finally finished it! PLUS it has been gifted!

I shared about the quilt here and here. This quilt was originally started in 2011. I have not a clue what the name of the quilt is nor where I found the quilt! I do remember that my sister and I spent a long time walking around Hancock's deciding on colors. I absolutely LOVE how the quilt turned out.

Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures of the finished quilt as I finished it on Christmas morning! That's right; I literally was waiting for it to finish in the dryer so I can go to my sister's!

Here's a look back to the quilt sandwich...

Pretty in Pink Quilt

A number of my friends are having babies. My go-to gift is always a baby quilt though I've been changing up my go-to quilt pattern and using new ones.

I used the Quarter-Cut Baby Quilt pattern to create a quilt in pink, teal, yellow, and gray.  I actually used fat quarters from my local WalMart but they are so much fun! Plus they perfectly match the little munchkin's nursery!

I'm so glad I stumbled across the pattern while playing around on Craftsy.

The quilt is actually square but I was in a hurry when I took the photos.

Well... Hello, there!

Well, it's been awhile since I posted. It's actually been 248 days... Yeah, just a little while. Nearly nine months. But I've been busy! I've been working, sewing, spending time with my family, and working some more! My job is fun and crazy and has its ups and downs but I love every day!

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you would have seen that we added a new family member!

I volunteer with a local dog rescue. In August, when they needed an emergency foster home, the hubby and I volunteered to keep her for two weeks. However, we decided that we just could not give her back and had to keep her! I mean, look at her!!
