In the last few months, lots of things have changed! My husband graduated with a degree in CIS from our shared alma mater. He scored a new job an hour and a half from our home. And we moved! We now live thirty minutes from his job and an hour from mine. Yep, that's right! I'm commuting every day!
|Me and my handsome hubby!|
I spend the hour in my car (each way!) listening to fun podcasts such as Young House Love Has a Podcast, Chris Loves Julia Podcast, and Stuff You Missed In History Class. The first two are about DIY and decor with the latter about fun facts in history. Definitely recommend all three!
We are slowly unpacking our house and figuring out where things should live. We went from a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom single wide mobile home to a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Layout is completely different! We have huge walk-in closets in the two bedrooms. Plus now we are sharing an office/sewing space. We also have good sized kitchen, living room and dining room space. It is all just very different!
Here's the current state of our dining room. Warning: it's frightening!
|Yikes! It's scarier when you see the picture!|
I'm hoping that by posting this photo here I'll get super motivated to clean it up! I really do hate looking at all those boxes! Since we didn't have room in our last house for an actual dining room table, we don't have anything to go here! We are hoping to purchase a table and chairs in the next few months.
My husband is currently working overnights which means that the time we have together is usually spent just being together and not cleaning or unpacking. Which means I'm doing a bunch solo. I don't mind because then I get to put things where I want them! Of course, I need him to help me lift things! Especially in the bedroom. We have some uber-thick carpet which is great on the feet but awful for moving things around!
I haven't really work on anything crafting related other than repainting a small set of drawers which I shared on my Instagram account. I also have finished another medallion for my around the world quilt that I have been working on forever! Still have one more to go before I am done with it! But first I have to figure out where all my pre-made hexies are! They are in a box somewhere!
I finally was able to purchase the Swoon pattern that I have been coveting on others' Instragram feeds! I know I'm super behind on this purchase but I wanted to buy it from a LQS. Unfortunately, the shop in my new town has now gone out of business. I did visit right before it closed and purchased the fabric and pattern. I think I may be using it to create a king sized quilt... Hmmm..
Here's hoping I can actually sew some things this fall!
