2014, I was commissioned to make a baby quilt for my wonderful coworker's first grandchild. Earlier this year, she asked me to make another as a new grandchild was on the way!
This time, I gave the mom-to-be and grandmother a few pattern options as the mom had picked out a pink, teal, and purple theme. All of the patterns were square and/or triangle based. She picked out a large scaled pinwheel. Each of the half-square triangles finished at 10". The final size of the quilt was around 45" squared.
Here's a shot of the embroidery in progress:
I put embroidery on each side: the baby's first and middle name on one side with a message from her grandparents on the opposite. On the other side is her birth date and time and the other side has her weight and length at birth.
