A Finish and a Start

Exactly two months ago on Friday, January 4, I finished but also started a huge project that I have been working on since May 2018. On this day, my precious son was born. A little boy that my husband and I have fervently prayed and longed for and the Lord blessed us with.

If you follow me on Instagram then you would have seen this announcement in September:

My energy levels were pretty sapped most of my pregnancy. I thankfully had a pretty easy pregnancy and missed most of the more annoying symptoms! (Thanks, son!) I ended up being induced at 37 weeks as baby boy has enlarged kidneys and our doctors decided it was best he come a bit early. The induction didn't quite go as planned and baby boy arrived via C-section. Seeing him for the first time made that long day worth it!

I adore this photo of my husband with our son.

Unfortunately I didn't finish his baby quilt before he arrived though I did get it pieced! I'll eventually get it quilted! For now we are using the pieced quilt as a background for his weekly photos!

I'm not doing much sewing on my maternity leave though. I spend most days just soaking in his baby-ness and loving on him!

It makes me so happy to be his momma and I cannot wait to see him grow! One last photo from the professional shoot that we had this weekend!

I decided to link this up Finished or Not Friday over at Busy Hands Quilts! I'm just so excited to be his momma!
